March 1, 2008 ... Today I spent my wing time fabricating a new aft root rib, and gussets; then cleaned and
alodined the parts.
March 4, 2008 ... I didn't get much wing time today, but I did get the wing structure squared up again, and fit, pre-drilled,
updrilled and deburred the root rib and gussets. I then riveted the root rib, bracket, and gussets together .... with one exception.
I didn't rivet the forward row of rivets closest to the main spar. Leaving those rivets out for now will give me greater
access for installing and torquing the nuts on the root rib brackets.
March 8, 2008 ... I had a chance to work on my plane today, but opted to go flying to the coast with a couple members
of the Stockton EAA Chapter #1432. The weather was beautiful and the sky was calling! Our original plan was to fly into Half
Moon Bay and "grab some grub," and fly back. But by the time we got over the Golden Gate Bridge, we could see a thick band of
fog had moved in over Half Moon Bay. So we turned north and went into Petaluma airport instead. Here are a few photos of that flight.
Enjoy!

and organizer of our fly-out.
This is a shot of Mt. Diablo. It is a landmark that is seen for miles from the ground but doesn't look nearly so big from the air.
Petaluma airport was filled with cool aircraft of every kind, from ultralights, homebuilts and warbirds, to the sleek and exotic. It was almost like being at an airshow!
