May 1, 2007 ... I had to re-make these spar lower angles. These are the new angles (top photo). The first set did not fit
very well when I placed them over the doubler spar web (W10-05). This time when I fabricated these angles I used the dimensions on
the drawings but when I did the finish filing, I set the angles on the Doubler Spar Web to verify that everything was going to match
up perfectly. 'Looking much better now.
May 5, 2007 ... I cleaned the remaining spar caps today and completed the alodine process. I constructed a large
basin out of scrap lumber and 4 mil. plastic which will be used to alodine the wing ribs, and spar doubler pieces.
May 7, 2007 ... I pulled out the wing aft ribs and began cleaning them up with M.E.K. (Methylethylketone), and began deburring.
I pulled two of the pre-formed ribs aside, to be used as root ribs, and removed 3/8 inch from the front, and 9/16 inch
from the back of both ribs, as called for in the drawings.
May 19, 2007 ... This is the Northern California Fly-in at Rio Linda Airport. Talking with other Sonex builder/pilots
and seeing their aircraft up close gave me some great ideas and building tips. Along with the Sonex aircraft, there were several
other nice homebuilt aircraft. It was a lot of fun!
